What will a chiropractor do on the first visit?

It will be remarkedly similar to going to see any other doctor.  You will be asked to fill out forms about your current and past health history, a questionnaire to determine how badly your pain is affecting you, and some legal stuff from the Government.  Then you will be taken back to an examination room to have your blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature taken. The doctor will then come in and ask several questions about your pain, how long have you had it, what makes it worse, what makes it better.  The doctor will also ask about past surgeries and current medical conditions (these could affect your pain.)  Then the doctor will feel the area of pain, make your do range of motion (bending turning) do some orthopedic tests, and test some muscle strength.  If you are hurting really bad the doctor may put you on a muscle stimulation machine to relax tight muscles, and then you will be given a chiropractic adjustment.  You will be given some does and don’ts to do at home and you will get an email detailing your condition and what it will take to fix it. Check out our blog, YouTube, Facebook, and website for more information or you can call us at 512 556-8223.
